  • parents and tots LEARN TO SKATE (30 MINS WEEKLY SESSION)

    PROGRAM STARTS September 19, 2024

    THURSDAYS FROM 5:30 TO 6:00PM

    Our Parents and Tots session is designed for children 3-6 years old who want to learn to skate for the first time.

    A parent or guardian must accompany the child on the ice for the first half of the season (Sept-Dec). After the Christmas break, children will be invited to skate on their own. CSA approved helmet mandatory for skaters.

  • CANSKATE (50 MINS WEEKLY SESSION)

    PROGRAM STARTS September 19, 2024

    THURSDAYS FROM 6:00 TO 6:50PM

    Our CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation, basic skill long-term athlete development (LTAD) principles, CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity. The program is for beginner and returning skaters aged 5 and older. CSA approved helmet mandatory for skaters.

  • PRESTAR

    PROGRAM STARTS SEPTEMBER 9, 2024

    OPTION TO SKATE 1 OR 2 DAYS/ WEEK

    The PreSTAR program is designed for skaters who are ready to move on to more advanced Figure Skating skills, but are not ready to move into the StarSkate program. In a small group setting, skaters will learn preliminary skills and guide them towards the StarSkate program. Figure skates must be worn, no hockey skates.

    Mondays 4:50-5:50 pm with OPTIONAL second day Thursdays 4-4:50pm

  • STAR

    PROGRAM STARTS SEPTEMBER 9, 2024

    OPTION TO SKATE 2 OR 3 DAYS/ WEEK

    STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. This program teaches figure skating skills in a private lesson format only in a progressive and sequential manner. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Assessments and Tests through a nationally standardized system

    Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays 3:30-5pm (PLEASE NOTE THURSDAYS ICE IS SHARED WITH PRE-STAR GROUP)


REGISTRATION INFORMATION

**IMPORTANT- READ CAREFULLY **

All registrations MUST be completed online!

If you are a first time user, you will have to create an account under your name (parent/guardian).  When you register for a program, you will add your child as a participant.  If you do not know your child's Skate Canada number (or don’t have one yet), just leave that field blank for now.  

SKATE CANADA FEE

Note that there is a mandatory $61.70 annual Skate Canada fee for ALL skaters. This fee is only payable once a year (September 1 to August 31st) and is non-refundable.

RAFFLE TICKET FEE

This is our first fundraiser for the season. $50.00 will be added to your registration at checkout. At the beginning of the season, you will be given a 10-Raffle Ticket booklet to sell. If you participate in the fundraiser and sell your 10 tickets, you will make your money back.

COSTUME FEE- CARNIVAL

We will be hosting our annual skating carnival the weekend of March 29/30, 2024. This is a super fun event for our skaters and they anticipate it every year. The participants of the Learn To Skate programs will see a $25.00 fee for one costume. The PreSTAR and STAR skaters will see a $50.00 fee for 2 costumes.


Registration Terms and Conditions
1. All participants are required to pay fees in full by the date(s) stated
2. If payment is in instalments, a pre-set minimum payment is required at the time of registration
3. Skate Canada fees and Raffle Ticket Fee are non-refundable
4. Registrations will be not accepted if a skater is not in good standing (registration fees/guest skating fees/coaching fees)
5. All schedules and times subject to change
6. Port Dover Skating Club reserves the right to move skaters into a program that best suits the skaters skill level
7. Drop out date to be within 4 weeks of the start of the program the participant is registered for
8. Refunds will not be permitted for non-medical reasons.  IE...missed classes due to illness or other activities

Refund Terms and Conditions
1. Refund requests will only be accepted if made in writing to the Executive Committee, and must be approved by the Executive board by vote:
a) when accompanied by a doctors note (illness, injury)
b) when accepted by Executive board in the case of injury, preventing the skater from continuing a program
c) when membership is cancelled by the Executive board for cause (i.e. Code of Conduct, or Non-Payment of Fees)
d) All refunds subject to a $25.00 administration fee
